I think I never mentioned it before but I love practicing yoga for my physical exercice and inner balance! At the end of january, I discovered a great combination of yoga and brunch – what a perfect match! The event took place at JPour, Kirchberg, which was responsible for the vegan brunch buffet. The yoga class was held by Eileen of House of Yoga (actually located in Strassen). A dynamic yoga class (9:00-10:00), followed by a delicious healthy brunch buffet (10:15-13:00) was available for 50€ per person.
The atmosphere of the “Beat the Winterblues – Sunshine Yoga Flow” yoga class was very good and you could feel a special energy with all of those lovely people getting up on a sunday morning to attend this event. In a good humour and with sunshine coming through the big windows, we welcomed the day with a vitalising yoga class. Everyone had to bring his/her own yoga mat and could change at the restrooms. The yoga class was demanding but just enough to make you feel proud of yourself – and perfect to attend the brunch afterwords!
The vegan brunch was full of healthy propositions you can also find on the regular menu of JPour during the week, like the “Sunshine Bowl” with mango, banana and almond milk or the “Acai Bowl” nicely dressed with coconut flakes, granola and fresh berries. A lot of superfoods had been used and there were gluten-free options like the whole grain gluten-free bread by LeneLife, the freshly made buckwheat crêpes, the raw carrot cake with cahews and a banana bread.
The variety of dishes was great and so I could try some elements I had never eaten before like the chia bread. In little jars, there was also chia pudding with berries or cinnamon, overnight oats and an apple & pear compote. For the sweet tooth, there was also a raw peanut chocolate bar with dates – energising with real cocoa powder.
The brunch was abundant with a lot of savoury options, too: ratatouille with zucchini, red pepper, eggplant and carrot, quinoa salad, kale salad, sweet potato soup with carrots, parsnip, ginger and coconut milk, hummus, mashed avocado and eggplant hummus.
For the drinks, it was difficult to try everything as the smoothies were quite filling (pink one with berries, almond milk, banana and coconut oil & green one with ginger, cucumber, apple, lime and avocado). Perhaps it would have been better to present those in smaller portions so that it would be easier to try them all – together with the deliciously fresh cold pressed juices (orange one with orange, carrots, pineapple and ginger & red one with apple, pear, orage, beetroot and ginger).
All in all, the Yogi Brunch was a great experience on a sunday morning – not only for the dynamic yoga class but also for the delicious healthy brunch with special preparations and new tastes. In the future, there will be more or less one Yogi Brunch per month – the next one will take place on march 12th. Places are limited so book your spot!
